We have all seen it, scrolling through Instagram stories and a completely random advert pops up with a very famous face seemingly endorsing it.
Well, the BBC have announced that "Facebook and Instagram owner Meta is to introduce facial recognition technology to try and crack down on scammers who fraudulently use celebrities in adverts."
They will do this by adding facial recognition technology to "beef up" their existing AI technology to ensure this cannot happen.
People like Martin Lewis have been repeatly targeted by these scammers (usually promoting bitcoins or similar) and previously told The Today Program on BBC Radio 4, that he receives "countless" reports of his name and face being used in such scams every day, and had been left feeling "sick" by them.
People can help stop these scams and make sure they are deleted by clicking the "report" button.
