A big focus at the annual CES show this year was portable (and not so portable) power. Times have moved on from just being able to charge your mobile or laptop on the go and some of this year’s offerings are sophisticated enough to power your whole home for weeks at a time.
Before we look at the big players when it comes to power stations and solar panels, a little history on the CES show.
CES® is the most influential technology event in the world — the proving ground for breakthrough technologies and global innovators, hosted in Las Vegas.
This is where the world's biggest brands do business and meet new partners, and the sharpest innovators hit the stage. Owned and produced by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA)®, CES features every aspect of the tech sector. With over 3200 exhibitors including Google, Amazon, John Deere, Microsoft, and Sony from across 173 countries, this really is the event to be seen.
As mentioned above, a heavy trend at CES this year was portable power. The show saw the likes of EcoFlow, Yoshino, Zendure and Geneverse launch their latest offerings to the world, while Energy giant Schneider Electric entering the fray showed that battery power storage for the home is really starting to hit mainstream.
It was Bluetti however that really stole the show when it came to awards…
In December it was announced that Bluetti had been named a “CES® 2023 Innovation Awards Honoree” for AC500 solar generator -
“It’s honourable to win the award, which will also inspire us to roll out more innovations to meet the ever-changing power demand in the future.” Said James Ray, BLUETTI’s Marketing Director.
Bluetti was also awarded “Best of CES 2023 for the best all-in-one domestic power backup solution” by WCCF Tech for its EP900 Power Station.
The EP900 is an all-in-one energy storage system that can be integrated directly into any solar system to allow 9kW max solar input, or into any household AC wiring. It has a built-in hybrid inverter, which means it can both provide mains power at 120/240V AC and be topped up with mains power when needed.
Meanwhile, the AC500 is a 16-outlet solar generator that can output a 5kW pure sine wave power and can be charged at speeds up to 8kW using AC+ Solar.
These products will soon be available to buy through TPO.
